///Based on investigation and analysis of the large area ground collapse of small coal mines in Xinmin Town in Fugu County, north of Shanxi, and summarized the features of ground collapse caused by "Pillar" mining in loess hilly region,the paper took Xichagou coal mine as an example, by analyzing and contrasting the stress of roof rock beam, load and strength of pillar with its two parameters, and the results indicate a reasonable size of room and coal pillar can prevent a large-area ground collapse.
