The Mengyejing potash deposit lies in brown and variedness salting-in flult formation of the Cenozoic Mengyejing rock assemblage which is located at the back-foreland basin of the Lanping-Simao bidirectional arc zone, west of the Yangtze massif. Its metallogenesis exhibits evident evaporation-sedimentation cyclothem. The output of potash beds is controlled by strata, lithofacies and tectonics directly. The authors define it as a typical Cenozoic (lake facies) potash deposit, the Mengyejing-type potash deposit. The authors take Lanping-Yunlong, Zhenyuan-Jinggu and Jiangcheng-Mengla as three work areas for ore prediction, which have similar metallogenesis conditions with the Mengyejing potash deposit.
