Ore prospecting along the Darbut tectonic belt, Xinjiang is guided by remote sensing techniques, such as ETM multi-spectral false color composites, principal component analysis, HSI coding, edge enhancement and ‘Crosta technique’ for the alteration mineral mapping. Mineralization is generally related to small granodiorite bodies. Previously, the mineralization was considered to be mainly located at upper plate of the Darbut Fault. The results of this study show important clues for further ore prospecting in the area and provide useful evidences for summarizing and perfecting metallogenesis along the Darbut Structure Zone.
