The seismic facies volume analysis techniques based on 3D multi-attributes data volume are newly developed methods following the seismic facies analysis on profiles or in planes which is doing the lateral and vertical seismic facies analysis simultaneously. The seismic facies volume can provide more references with 3D characteristics of sedimentary facies, stratigraphy and reservoirs. This paper introduces the principles, workflow and results from field data of seismic facies volume analysis techniques. The characteristics and effect factors of the seismic facies analysis techniques are also discussed in this paper.
