The Daan formation is a good reservoir for shale gas accumulation. However, when drilling this strata mem- ber, economic gas flow as well as dry layer were obtained and such drilling results have revealed the uneven horizontal distri- bution characteristics of this layer. The enrichment of shale gas in this area is controlled by thermal maturity of shale, TOC, natural fractures and formation pressure as well. Therefore, fractures and lithologic association are of the first importance in finding drilling targets. On the basis of 3-D post-stack longitudinal wave, by analysis of curvature and instantaneous ampli- tude attribute either, the favorable zone of shale gas reservoir in Daan member of zhengzhuchong formation in SL area has been predicted. The predicting results are in good agreement with drilling data.
