As
low-grade faults have great influence on remaining oil distribution and injection-production
relation, an accurate distribution of these minor faults is one of considerable
interests in mature field development. After poststack seismic data are
processed by high frequency enhancement and seismic attribute are obtained from
ant tracking, the authors use a joint well-seismic interpretation to
characterize low-grade faults with above 2-meter fault throw in the working area.
This low-grade fault interpretation has been proven by well production
information. The study demonstrates that this joint well-seismic interpretation
has great potential to improve the minor geologic body delineation for the
mature field development stage.
