Effect of host density and location on the percentage parasitism, fertility and induced mortality of Aganaspis daci (Hymenoptera: Figitidae), a parasitoid of Ceratitis capitata (Diptera: Tephritidae)
Aganaspis daci finds and kills medfly under laboratory and field conditions. A type III functional response occurs under laboratory conditions. A type II functional response occurs under greenhouse conditions. Under both conditions, medfly population reduction is similar and very high. Aganaspis daci can be a useful biological control agent against the medfly.
