A research method coupled experiment with CFD-PBM was put forward to study on dynamic characteristics of oil-water separation under different turbulent kinetic energies. It is beneficial to study the mechanism of flotation at different scales. The dynamic separation characteristics including the variation tendency of the oil droplet diameter distribution, the oil droplet diameter distribution in equilibrium, the Sauter-Mean diameter, and the oil-water separation efficiency under different turbulent kinetic energies both from micro scale and macro scale. A relationship between the dynamic behavior at micro scale and the separation characteristics of oil and water at macro scale was established by statistical analysis of the oil droplet diameter distribution, the oil concentration distribution and the separation efficiency.
