Crimped fibrous structures intervene in a number of structural applications. The finite strain response of crimped beams is needed for constitutive descriptions. Analytical relationships are obtained via the Principle of Virtual Works. The model is applied for the multiscale mechanics of collagen fibers in tendons. The model effectively couples microstructural properties and mechanical response.
