A series of furan-based allocolchicinoids was prepared from commercial colchicine. Compounds exhibited excellent cytotoxicity towards epithelial cell lines. 14a and 7a induced cell accumulation in the G2/M phase in 2D and 3D cultures. 14a and 7a induce a panel of interphase effects.
