Tree ring-based chronology of hydro-geomorphic processes as a fundament for identification of hydro-meteorological triggers in the Hrubý Jeseník Mountains (Central Europe)
Debris flows represent a common hazard in the headwaters of the Hrubý Jeseník Mts. Tree-ring analysis helps to fill the debris flow/flood chronologies in forested areas. 40 debris flow/flood events were identified in 4 catchments over the last 125 years. Meridional circulation patterns were mostly responsible for debris flow triggering. The most detailed history of debris flows/floods in the Sudetes was carried out.
