A new model predicts personal exposure frequency distributions (PEFD) across a city. It links a microenvironmental model of the home to time-activity patterns. We applied the model to simulate PEFDs for nitrogen dioxide in the city of Leicester. The mean of the PEFD was similar to, or below, urban background concentrations. The 95%ile PEFD was more strongly influenced by indoor and outdoor emission peaks.
