Co-precipitation of high borate concentrations with HAp was investigated.

Maximum sorption density of borate in HAp was 0.40 of B/Ca.

Triborate was decomposed into monomers during immobilization in HAp.

With high borate concentrations, the crystalization of HAp was inhibited.

11B-NMR suggested tetragonal B is always predominant in solid phase of HAp.
