A eukaryotic expression plasmid for antigen production was optimized. A DNA vaccine against Edwardsiella tarda co-encoding antigen with adjuvant peptide was designed. The DNA vaccine based on bicistronic system induced both innate and adaptive immune response. Co-encoding antigenic and adjuvant proteins might be an efficient strategy for DNA vaccine.
