The perception on coastal ecosystems by end-users was assessed in central Chile. Perceptions changed between end-users but were homogeneous across the region. In a scenario of overexploited resources, fishermen still prioritized provision services. Tourists valued intangible services, in conflict with environmental degradation. Coastal management must address multiple stakeholders value judgements.
