Chemicals of concern were detected in surface waters of four U.S. national parks. Gabapentin and metformin frequently occurred together. Pesticides were detected at a higher rate than other chemicals analyzed. Environmental concentrations rarely exceeded reference values or standards. Chemicals detected at concentrations reported to elicit adverse effects to biota.
