A novel thioether derivative (L) was synthesized and coupled with 6 nm Ag NPs to construct L-Ag hybrid particles. The coupling effect resulted in 115 times enhancement in two-photon absorption activity. The coupling hot spot was thioether/primary amino group and Ag+ ion at the interface.
