Although considered a mundane but necessary part of nasal surgery, little has been written regarding intranasal splinting and/or packing. The discovery of myospherulosis has led to a need for a nonpetroleum-based intranasal lubricant. These various problems and their solutions have been discussed. Special attention has been given to providing intranasal tamponade and maintenance of an airway simultaneously.
