Sulfanyl porphyrazine with isophthaloxyalkyl substituents was metallated with copper(II), cobalt(II) and iron(II) metal ions. New macrocycles were characterized using MS, UV–vis, NMR spectroscopy and voltammetry. Novel porphyrazines were used for electrochemical functionalization of reduced graphene oxide. The modified electrodes exhibited a strong electrocatalytic performance toward reduction of H2O2 and oxidation of l-cysteine.
