Serious PM2.5 pollution was found in rural and suburban areas of Henan and Shandong provinces. There was clear spatial variation in the main chemical components of PM2.5 across the sampling areas. Firecrackers directly emitted K+, Cl−, SO42 −, K, Cl, S, Cu, Sr and other elements, and indirectly influenced NO3− and NH4+.
