Formation of ZnIn2S4 nanosheets and tubular structures in organic media

Hot-injection synthesis of ZnIn2S4 in oleic acid/oleylamine media is developed. The band gaps were calculated to be in the range from 2.6 to 3.0 eV. Mesostructured nanosheets consisting from nanoparticles of 5 to 10 nm were synthesized. Growth mechanism of mesostructures through cation-exchange process is proposed.
