Significantly higher concentration of MDA was found in the patients with bipolar disorder than healthy controls. Significantly lower concentrations of antioxidants were found in the patient group compared with control group. Lower concentrations of Zn, Ca, Fe, Se, Na and K were found in the patient group compared with control subjects.
