Breakfast meals illustrating food safety or quality concerns had low acceptability. Disgust and worried terms were selected for food quality or safety concerns. Heart rate changed when a food quality (spoilage) concern video was viewed. Facial expression provides evidence of emotional withdrawal for food spoilage. Frontal cortex asymmetry scores illustrated withdrawal response for food spoilage.
