A simple and efficient organocatalytic enantioselectivehydrophosphonylation of imines to enantiomerically enriched
-amino phosphonates is reported. By using 10 mol % ofquinine as the catalyst in the enantioselective addition ofdiethyl phosphite to
N-Boc protected imines,
-aminophosphonates are obtained in moderate to good yields andwith up to 94% ee.
