The binuclear allenyl complexRu2(CO)6(-PPh2){-chars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >1,chars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >2chars/alpha.gif" BORDER=0>,chars/beta2.gif" BORDER=0 ALIGN="middle">-C(Ph)=C=CPh2}(1) reacts with bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm) to affordRu2(CO)4(-PPh2)(-dppm){-chars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >1,chars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >2-C(O)C(Ph)=C=CPh2}(2) containing an acylallenyl ligand andRu2(CO)4(-PPh2)(-dppm){-chars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >1,chars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >2chars/alpha.gif" BORDER=0>,chars/beta2.gif" BORDER=0 ALIGN="middle">-C(Ph)=C=CPh2}(4). With bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (dppe), 1 affordsRu2(CO)5(-PPh2)(chars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >2-dppe){chars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >1-C(Ph)=C=CPh2}(3), which contains aterminal chars/eta.gif" BORDER=0 >1-coordinated allenyl fragment. TheX-raystructures of 2-4 are reported.
