The therapeutic patient education (TPE) considers patients as an important participant in their health management and aims to improve their quality of life and autonomy. In rheumatology, the inflammatory chronic arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, chronic spine diseases and chronic pain diseases are good candidates for TPE procedures. In the present review, we describe TPE indications, practical usage and its scientific assessment.
