BackgroundIn order to keep up with developments in manual medicine (MM), at the turn of the millennium an extension of the corresponding curriculum was put forward. The continuing teaching of scientific knowledge and clinical experience could profit from this. The organizational and structural content in Germany is not restricted to university institutions. The continuing education is carried out in qualified further training seminars recognized by the State Medical Councils.
