摘要
19世纪英国女作家夏洛蒂·勃朗特的代表作《简·爱》和20世纪美国黑人女性作家左拉·尼尔·赫斯顿的《他们眼望上苍》都是描述女性婚姻命运的经典之作。本文旨在以婚姻为主线,通过对比分析两部小说中的不同时期不同种族的女主人公的婚姻困境,从而引发对婚姻在女性追寻自由平等和个性解放的道路中的影响这一问题的探讨,进而揭露两部小说对于当代女性的培养和塑造自身婚恋价值观的现实意义。
Jane Eyre is the representative work of Charlotte Bronte, a female English novelist in 19~(th) century; Their Eyes Were Watching God is a masterpiece by Zora Nearle Hurston, an American black female writer in 20 thcentury. Both works are. This paper will focus on expounding the marriage experiences of these two heroines of different races and different times, and by conducting a comparative analysis of their marriage plights, the paper aims to arouse the further discussion on the influence of marriage on women's pursuit of equality and liberation so as to reveal the practical significance of these two novels in shaping and cultivating the values on love and marriage of our modern females.
