摘要
The nuclear complex of Russia is treated in this paper as the object for ecologo-geographical study. A spatial analysis is made of the country’s radioactive pollution. It is emphasized that the geographical disciplines must give more attention to ensuring ecological security of the regions, with realistic parameters of radioactivity existing in geosystems. Survey-analysis efforts can become an important element of radiation geography. Examination of the situation in the nuclear energy sector, the nuclear weapons complex and generally in the entire sphere of “nuclear resource management-of Russia deserves closer attention and critical scientific analysis. An assessment is made of the radiological situation for separate regions, river basins and nuclear centers; also, a generalized picture is presented. It is suggested that the terms “radiation geography-and “nuclear resource management-be introduced in scientific usage. The financial problems and the prospects for radioecological rehabilitation of regions are outlined.
