胡适翻译《缝衣歌》考辨

摘要
钩稽史料,比较胡适和马君武《缝衣歌》译本及《缝衣歌》英文原诗的异同,分析了胡适《缝衣歌》译本的五个特征:更换字词;句子顺序调整;译文前后措词不一;一些原意都未翻译;译文有明显的个人痕迹。认为这些特征一致指向胡适《缝衣歌》译本是在马君武《缝衣歌》译本上的编辑式润色和修改;在宏观上对胡适"窜易"《缝衣歌》的动机和原因作了检视,归纳胡适《缝衣歌》的本质特征为转载+窜易,作出胡适的《缝衣歌》并非"未译",亦非"重译"的结论。
On the basis of examining the historical materials, the similarities and differences between Hu Shi and Ma Junwu's translations and the original English poems of The Song of the Shirt are compared. It analyzes the five features of Hu Shi's translation: the change of a word; the adjustment and rearrangement of a sentence; the different diction of the same word; the identical untranslated original meaning; the personal traces in his version. It is believed that these features are consistently directed at Hu Shi's translation, which is an edited touch and modification on Ma Junwu's. It examines the motives and causes of Hu Shi's "modify" from a macroscopic perspective, and concludes that the essential feature of Hu Shi's translation is reprinting+modifying, which is neither "untranslated" nor "retranslated".
