宇文所安《杜甫诗》中“服饰”名词的英译策略研究

摘要
本文以宇文所安英译的《杜甫诗》全六卷为研究对象,采用描写研究方法,探究其中"服饰"名词的英译策略。发现译者倾向于采用译诗词语的简化策略,将原文中古旧的服饰名词翻译成通俗易懂的现代英语,具体包括概括法、具体法、释义法、增添法、节略法、替换法以及直译法七种翻译方法。考虑到译文在目的语读者中的可接受性,在忠于原文内容的前提下,译者也会根据具体语境,用不同的策略翻译同样的词语。
Taking the descriptive approach, this paper studies the translation strategies of the "costume and ornament" terms in Stephen Owen's six-volume The Poetry of Du Fu. It has been found that Owen is inclined to employ simplification of vocabularies to translate the archaic costume and ornament terms in the original into simple modem English, including generalization, specification,interpretation, addition, omission, substitution and literal translation.However, in order to cater for the needs of the target language readers, sometimes the translator adopts different strategies to translate the same terms in accordance with the specific context and with the proviso of being faithful to the original.
