摘要
本翻译报告在小说《相约伊斯坦布尔》（Meet Me in Istanbul）英译汉的基础上，通过对小说语言特点及翻译方法的探讨，选取了针对该小说的总体翻译理论—归化与异化。在总体翻译理论的指导下，笔者采用多种翻译技巧，如增译法，注释译法等，并在汉语译文中选取实例，进行深入分析与研究。同时针对该小说的翻译难点—英语地名翻译及人物姓名翻译，提出了相应的解决办法，并对翻译过程、体会进行总结。笔者希望本翻译报告能够抛砖引玉，为翻译同类作品的译者提供借鉴和参考。
Based on the Chinese translation of Meet Me in Istanbul and the research offiction language features and translation methods, this report brings up the maintranslation theory in translating Meet Me in Istanbul—Domestication andForeignization. Under the guidance of Domestication and Foreignization, sometranslation techniques were introduced, including amplification and notation. Theauthor also chooses some examples in the Chinese translation version to make athorough research in the above translation techniques. Meanwhile, the author alsopresents the difficulties—English place name translation, name translation and alsobrings up the solution during the translation, with the hope to help other translatorswho have similar problems and questions in translating this kind of fiction.
