Based on the data of the shallow sea of Northern Liaodong Bay in 2006, the contents of element As both total and in each states in the bottom mud of shallow sea are analyzed. The distribution and correlation of total As and its different existing states are studied. Its environmental ecologic effect is also discussed. The result indicates that the arsenic content in bottom mud is quite high, existing mainly in residual state, humic acid binding state and ferrimanganic oxidized state, with rare water-soluble state, carbonate binding state, ion-exchange state and organic binding state.
