The characteristics of in situ spore of Coniopteris simplex in the Middle Jurassic period from Yaojie in Gansu Province were revealed by a large number of experimental analysis, and its basic features can be summarized as following:spores for tetrahedron, polar view from triangle to round triangle, blunt vertical angle, three concave edges, the smaller volume, the diameter of Polar view is from 25 to 38 μm and the average is about 30 μm, 3-ray flat or microbend, and its length is the radius of two-thirds to three-fourths, narrower width, lip-like edge.
