The Dabei area of Kuqa Depression is an abnormal pressure well developing zone in Tarim Basin. The abnormal pressure encountered by drilling occurs from the Paleogene to the Cretaceous as key strata. The detecting the abnormal pressure distribution characteristics of Paleogene-Cretaceous suggests that the tensile stress effect formed by South Tianshan tectonic movement and the developed salt rock in the key strata are two important factors for forming such an abnormal pressure in this area.
