According to monitoring and sample analysis of groundwater conditions in the Ili River Irrigated Area, this paper analyzed the geochemical characteristics and spatio-temporal variation of groundwater in the Ili River Irrigated Area, Western Tianshan Mountains, China, using correlation analysis, principal component analysis and variogram model and Kriging. The results of the study showed that: 58.18% groundwater samples were non-salinized while 40.00% slightly salinized and 1.82% moderately salinized. Anions of groundwater were mainly Cl–, SO42- while cations were mainly Ca2+, Mg+. Groundwater salinity (TDS), EC and ions had strongly spatial variation while pH had very slightly spatial variation.
