Genetic algorithm which is based on MATLAB genetic toolbox is a stochastic global optimization algorithm. This paper applies GA (genetic algorithm) to invert hydrogeological parameters based on the pumping test and compares with the parameters by wiring method and Jacob linear graphic method. The results indicate that drawdown calculated by parameters of GA coincides with the measured drawdown. Convenient and quick GA can be regarded as a kind of effective method to solve the hydrogeology parameters.
