The Qianchang-Xulou area, Huaibei is situated in north Anhui Province belongs to North China Plain, with bedrock being buried at a depth of 100 m to 300 m, covered by Cenozoic strata of medium thickness, where it is difficult to prospect minerals. The area is located in southern part of North China landmass where metallic resources are abundant and dominated by skarn-type iron and copper deposits, which are comparable to the Handan type deposits in North China. Since 2005 the author has constantly been conducting comprehensive ore-prospecting methodological study in the covered area where a great deal of integrated geophysical and drilling work has been done, analyzed ore-forming geological conditions as well as geological and geophysical anomalous features of known deposits, had a systematic classification of various geophysical survey anomalies and concluded an inclusive metallogenic model for the Huaibei covered area.
