The determination of the formation water resistivity is always one of the difficulties of well logging inter- pretation in the shaly sandstone oil reservoirs with low porosity and low permeability. By means of introducing the geochemical field theory, from the viewpoint of the geneses of the salinity difference of the formation water in Gu- long Oilfield of West Daqing, the target layer is divided into two intervals and moreover the calculating models of the formation water resistivity relevant to the depth are built seperatively. Through contrasting the values of the cal- culated and the original resistivities, the average absolute error is 0. 05 Ω•m and the relative error is 9.8%, the coincidence rate is pretty higher. The method has a certain guiding significance to determine the formation water re- sistivity in the shaly sandstone reservoirs with low porosity and low permeability.
