Optimized Bin Parameter on Gas-Hydrate Quasi-Three-Dimensional Seismic Survey

In a sea area of China, the "single source-single streamer quasi-three dimensional seismic survey" method was applied in the gas-hydrate investigation, and a satisfying three-dimensional (3D) image was obtained. The bin parameter is one of the important parameters that can influence the 3D imaging. According to the result of data, if a streamer length of 2 400 m (192 channels) is fixed, the best optimization bin size (transverse) should be 50 m and processing bin should be half of the original acquisition size, i.e., 12.5 m×25 m, which can take into account of the authenticity and continuity of strata. The quality of the quasi-3D seismic image can then be obtained.
