摘要

The Triassic stratigraphy in the oft-com:office:smarttags" />Erlian Basin and neighboring areas in the central to north parts of Inner Mongolia has been poorly documented in the literature. In Tancan hole No.1, drilled in 1988 in the northeastern Erlian Basin, Triassic sporopollens have been discovered, indicating the existence of Triassic strata. In the Erlian Basin, Tancan hole No.1 is the only drill hole that penetrates strata of Triassic age. Because these Triassic strata are mostly red beds, they contain relatively few fossils, and they are not target strata in petroleum exploration, the Triassic strata of Tancan hole No.1 have not been studied adequately. To fill this gap, the authors have carried out a detail examination of Tancan hole No.1, including section description, lithostratigraphic division, and biostratigraphy. The results are useful for better understanding of the Triassic strata in North-East China.oft-com:office:office" />
