Turbidite channels developed in the southern lower Congo Basin in Oligocene Epoch are buried 1 500~2 000 m. Water depth of the survey is 1 500~1 800 m. Considering the large cost of deep sea drilling and moderate buried depth of the reservoir, petrophysical analysis aimed at hydrocarbon bearing reservoir of C and P oil fields in Oligocene Formation had been carried out. The relationship between Poisson’s ratio and hydrocarbon reservoir was built up based on differential analysis between AVO near and far offset trace amplitude energy as well as hydrocarbon detection technique using low-frequency pre-stack seismic data. The results demonstrated the effectiveness and practicability of the technology series.
