There is 250 000 m³ weak expansive soil within the first and second contract sections of the Hefei-Lu’an Expressway project, which is poor in nature, cannot be directly used for filling of roadbed before lime treatment of it. The improved soil totaling 220 000 m³ has been used in the project, saving 3 million yuan investment. This paper introduced quality control of the process in which weak expansive soil is treated with lime.
