This paper conducts the study of drilling and completion fluid system with natural vegetable tala gum (TLJ-1). Rheological properties, temperature resistance capability and salt resisting capability of the five vegetable gums are evaluated, including konjac gum, TLJ-1, locust bean gum, tamarind gum and agar. The paper has optimized TLJ-1 as the major treating chemical of drilling and completion fluid with vegetable gum. Laboratory test shows that the drilling and completion fluid system with vegetable gum can satisfy the performance requirements of modernized drilling and completion fluid./
