Petrogenesis of Alkaline Rocks in the Sulu Orogen-Evidence from Elemental Geochemistry
The authors reported the major and trace elements of alkaline rocks from the Sulu orogenic belt. Based on the above geochemical features, the authors propose that these alkaline rocks were derived from partial melting of the enriched lithospheric mantle in the extensional tectonic setting. Meanwhile, the parental magma underwent intense mineral fractional crystallization, including clinopyroxene, plagioclase, apatite, hornblende and biotite, whereas there had no crustal contamination during magma ascent.
