Compact anticlines are widely developed in Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces where a great deal of karst groundwater occurs. It is a great trouble to the large-scale engineering project in these areas, such as tunnel construction and mineral exploitation. And groundwater exploitation is difficult because of its maldistribution. Exemplified by Weishui anticline in Liupanshui and Longwangdong anticline in Huaying, this paper deals with the general law about the occurrence and migration of karst groundwater in compact anticlines, southwest China in order to provide a use for reference for underground crossing engineering and geological basis for water resource exploitation.
