A simplified method for the determination of determinate Au in antimony concentrate by ICP-AES is presented. This method can well solve the problems that the melting of Sb resulted the caking, during burning the sample to remove carbon and also the dissolution of Au encapsulated by Sb. Compared to use atomic absorption spectroscopy to determine Au, atomic emission spectrometry has much larger linear range, smaller dilution ratio and much smaller analytical error. The detection limit of this method was 0.1 μg/g. By the standard addition method, the recovery of known samples was from 96% to 104%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD)(n=6) was within 3%. This method is effective to determinate the Au in antimony concentrate.
