///Geotechnical engineering investigation of nuclear power station is different from the thermal power station, demanding high in construction environment and foundation bed. Taking the nuclear power station in Hubei Province as an example, the paper discusses the contents and methods of geotechnical engineering investigation of nuclear power station preliminary feasibility study stage from the aspects of data collection, field exploration and testing, laboratory test. Because the requirements of settlement deformation and bearing capacity for nuclear reactor are high, soil is difficult to meet their requirements. Engineering geological mapping should be centred on complete rock. Groundwater is the main pollution way of nuclear leakage, so the site hydrogeological investigation and hydrogeological testing are very important.
