The Southeast Sichuan tectonic belt is to the east of the Huaying Mountain fault zone,to the west of the Nanchuan-Zunyi fault zone and to the north of the depression zone in the north of Yunnan and Guizhou.Because of the impact of multiphase and multidirectional tectonic movements,a complex and compound structure formed in the southeast of Sichuan.Through researching more than 100 groups of joints, scratches and typical superimposed folds obtained from the outcrops of TongziQijiang area, inversing the paleostress field of the superimposed fold and joints fracture-slip structures by using the structural analytic methodand combined with the paleostress fields' sequence reflected from the superposition sequence of the folds and intersected relations of the joints, the authors rebuild the tectonic evolution of the Southeast Sichuan tectonic belt since Mesozoic. The result shows that the Southeast Sichuan structural belt has experienced four phases of tectonic movements since Mesozoic, that is,Early Cretaceous E-W trending compressional stress field,Late Cretaceous S-N trending compressional stress field,Early Cenozoic NE-SW trending compressional stress field, and Early Pliocene NW-SE trending compressional stress field.
