Reef and Sedimentary Settings Characterization in High-Resolution Coherency Sections
Coherency analysis techniques have been widely used to detect faults and fractures and to describe the distribution of channel sandstones at home and abroad, and the coherency map and volume are mainly used in the analysis. The authors find that the characteristics of reef and sedimentary settings are usually much clearer in coherency sections than in original amplitude sections. Especially, when the authors do the high resolution coherency analysis, they can do the characterization of sedimentary settings, even the horizon picking in coherency sections. This paper presents reef and sedimentary settings characterization in coherency sections and detects the reef and sedimentary settings combining with coherency volume and map.
